This church was inaugurated in 1646 at the same time with the convent of the monks of Monte Oliveto, wanted and financed by Alessandro Falciani. The current configuration dates back to 1830, the year of long and radical works beginning that enlarged the church its length. Among the works of art to mention; the fourteenth-century “Madonna del Latte”, attributed to Paolo di Giovanni Fei; two oil tondi of the sixteenth-century; the “Announced Virgin” and the “Announcing Angel”; the seventeenth-century canvas of the Madonna “Assunta in cielo”; a fifteenth-century wooden “Crucifix”; the “Madonna offering the Child to Santa Francesca Romana”, attributed to Deifebo Burbarini and the canvas depicting the “Madonna and Child who hands the rule of St. Benedict to St. Bernard Tolomei”. From 1776, after the suppression of the convent, until today it is the seat of the parish of Rapolano.
