Pieve dei Santi Andrea e Lorenzo

La chiesa è ricordata sin dal 1252. Nelle decime del 1302 è citata come «canonica di San Lorenzo» nel territorio della pieve paleocristiana di «Santo Stefano in Vico duodecim». Proprio da questa chiesa ereditò il titolo di pieve intorno alla metà del Cinquecento. L’attuale aspetto esterno in stile neoromanico risale agli inizi del XX secolo mentre l’alto campanile in travertino è del 1893. L’interno è d’impianto gotico, a navata unica con tetto a capriate e cappelle laterali. Di particolare rilievo è la gotica cappella Cacciaconti, chiusa da una ricca cancellata di Lotino di Toro da Siena (1347); sulla parete, il monumento funebre di Cacciaconte Cacciaconti; sulla mensa «Gesù benedicente» scultura in marmo di Giovanni di Agostino; sulla parete, la tavola con «Santa Caterina da Siena» di Giovanni di Lorenzo (1520 circa).

This church has been mentioned since 1252. In the tithes of 1302 it is mentioned as the “rectory of San Lorenzo” in the territory of the early Christian parish church of “Santo Stefano in Vico Duodecim”. It was from this church that it inherited the title of parish around the middle of the sixteenth century. The current external appearance in neo-Romanesque style dates back to the early twentieth century while the high travertine bell tower dates back to 1893. The interior has a Gothic layout, with a single nave with a trussed roof and side chapels. Of particular importance is the Gothic Cacciaconti chapel, closed by a rich gate by Lotino di Toro da Siena (1347); on the wall, the funeral monument of Cacciaconte Cacciaconti; on the table “Jesus blessing” marble sculpture by Giovanni di Agostino; on the wall, the panel with “Santa Caterina da Siena” by Giovanni di Lorenzo (around 1520).
